Jennifer Lucy Cook (she/her) is a Los Angeles-based composer and lyricist specializing in music for the stage and screen, choral work, and pop songwriting. Her pop-flavored musical theater stylings have found an audience on TikTok, where clips from her original musical Salem and musical recaps of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have garnered millions of views, resonating with audiences around the world.
She is currently collaborating with Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, writing additional material for his solo show, A Whole New World of Alan Menken, which debuted at the London Palladium and has upcoming engagements in Osaka, Japan, and a U.S. tour.
Jen is an alumna of the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Grove at Goodspeed Musicals and the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where she was a contributing composer and lyricist for the sold-out run of Willy’s Candy Spectacular: A Musical Parody.
Other theater commissions include the original musical Aurora, Full House Theatre Co., British Youth Musical Theatre, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.She holds a Master’s degree in Musical Theatre Writing from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a Bachelor’s degree in Media Music from Brigham Young University.
